ACTech - Pattern making by laser-sintering of plastic on EOSINT PPattern making by laser-sintering of plastic

In laser-sintering of plastic, a powder-like initial material is fused superficially and sintered by a traced CO2 laser beam with mirror optics. This procedure is repeated point-by-point at high speed until the master has been completed layer by layer. The master made this way is re-cured afterwards, burred and infiltrated with wax. After making the master, it is embedded into a molding material, and the polystyrene master is molten out. Now the mold is ready for casting.

ACTech uses the available sintering systems EOS P 700 almost exclusively to create masters for the production of silicone molds. The EOS P 700 system’s building volume is 700 x 380 x 580 mm. Components of greater size may be realized by using split models.

Rapid and flexible manufacture of investment casting models means that small batches and one-of-a-kind products may be planned and produced profitably. It is also possible to make available large, complex plastic parts and thus castings which  are needed primarily in the automotive and appliance industries, as well as in space travel.
