Monitor housing
The monitor housing is a central, load-carrying component that connects several electronic components with each other. These components are used in medical applications, particularly in X ray equipment. High surface quality and thin walls of the production parts are provided by the die casting technique.
According to this customer's requirement, the prototypes were made using the rubber plaster mold process. This way, ACTech has the possibility to react if the customer might increase the order quantity. This technique, which uses an elastic permanent model, is particularly suited to manufacturing castings of greater size and in higher part quantities with outstanding repeatability. This rapid prototyping procedure also enables ACTech to make more parts per day.
The parts were machined, surface improved and varnished delivered.
Due to a delay in the manufacturing of the production tool, the customer increased the intentional prototype order of 10 castings to a small production run of 630 castings. This helped to keep the customers "time to market" advantage. The monitor housings were supplied as just in time delivery directly to the assembly line.
