ACTech donates unique cast-bronze of the Schiller bust to Weimar / Germany |
|
On occassion of the annual awarding of the German "Schiller Stiftung" on May 10th, 2007 ACTech will, in the name of the Central German foundry specialists, celebratory present its first bronze copy of the colossal hardplaster bust of the poet Friedrich Schiller to the municipal libary in Weimar. The original was manufactured in 1805 by the sculptor J.F. Dannecker after Schillers death. ACTech oversaw this project beginning with the optical measurement via mold assembly and pouring to the presentation of the completed bronze bust to the foundation "Weimarer Klassik" in the year of Schiller 2005. Thereby we used the proved and tested, self-contained process chain of Reverse Engineering, typically utilized for the production of prototype castings depending on ancient models. Since September 2005 the bust can be visited in the Museum of Visual Arts in Leipzig / Germany and will now move to its final place in the municipal libary in Weimar.
